The November Issue of “O” Magazine
I admit it: I haven’t been a loyal reader of “O” magazine for the past 10 years. In fact, I resisted it like the plague because I really didn’t think I fit their demographic. Everything was SO expensive and SO not me. Now that the recession is in full effect, the “O” editors fill their pages with affordable goodness; not the kind that only those with money to burn can splurge on. I like that. And subsequently I’ve started reading “O” again.
I picked up the November issue while shopping in Target yesterday and nearly read it from cover to cover. It’s that good. They have a brilliant essay from Anne Lamont (need I say more?) and have featured Bonnie St. John, the first black woman to win a medal in skiing in the Paralympics. Years ago I interviewed Bonnie for Mommy Too! magazine. I will definitely dig in the archives and republish it. Bonnie is amazing!
The November issue is all about being who it is you’re meant to be. While I have some growing to do, we all do, I am so pleased with where my life is now and where it is going. I have some huge projects to complete and am always busy, but I love being a blogger. I love being intimately married to social media. I love working with brands and visiting them at their corporate headquarters. I love my family and the support they give me each and every day.
At 34, I can say I really love my life. I couldn’t have said that 10 years ago and sincerely meant it.
