Teaching Your Toddlers A Love For Reading

We love reading, books, and children’s literature. There’s no better way to bond with your toddler and teach him a lifelong skill that will shape how he views and relates to the world than reading. That’s why we were so excited to hear that the brand-new, revamped, remodeled Scholastic store in SoHo has opened. At the Scholastic store you’ll find a life size Magic School Bus, a new baby section housed by Clifford The Big Red Dog and a giant Klutz Build-a-Book section with a magnetic activity board for kids, among many other surprises.

Here are only some of the new features at the Scholastic store in SoHo.

1. Guided shopping areas organized by age and interest:

(Board, Soft and Interactive Books), Ages 3-5 (Beginning Audio,
Pop-up Books), Ages 6-8 (Series, Novels and Audiobooks), Ages 9-12
(Graphic Novels, Series and Novels), Ages 13-up (Teen Novels &
Series), Arts & Crafts (Klutz Kits and Art Materials), Science (Early
Science, Tech and Classroom Materials), Picture Books

2. An 11-foot-tall orange dinosaur (from the wildly popular “How Do Dinosaur” books by Jane Yolen, illustrated by Mark Teague) with a brightly colored bean bag tail, where kids can play or sit and read

3. A new bright yellow Magic School Bus kids and families can step into with flat screens on the inside and outside playing footage from the popular kids’ television series

The SoHo store is located on 557 Broadway between Prince and Spring Streets and the Scarsdale store is located at 450 Central Park Avenue (Route 100).
